About The Mayo Family
We are the Mayo family, proudly rooted in Tarboro, North Carolina.
For generations, our family has been growing cotton just outside of town, and since 1932, we've been manufacturing socks right here in Tarboro.
In 2023, after years of refining our vision, we launched Mayo Mills. This marked a new chapter in our family’s legacy, bringing together our farming heritage and manufacturing expertise to create a unique product. By incorporating cotton from our family farm, we produce socks that reflect the dedication and craftsmanship of multiple generations.
Mayo Mills allows us to support not only our customers but also our community. We’re proud to partner with local businesses, create jobs in North Carolina, and give back through donations and charitable initiatives that strengthen and uplift our neighbors.
Every sock we make is designed and manufactured in Tarboro, blending the charm of Eastern North Carolina with the comfort you deserve. Whether you're curling up on a chilly winter evening or strolling through a warm summer breeze, Mayo Mills offers a perfect blend of quality, comfort, and local pride.
Experience the true spirit of North Carolina—one step, one sock, one act of kindness at a time
